CARE Foundation’s primary focus is in W. Bengal, N. Bengal, Nagaland, Kerala and Meghalaya, more precisely in W.Bengal. Enlighten, watch, network, with these few virtues, it should be possible to create awareness to Renew, and to Empower and do small miracles with great effect, and finally to overcome big barriers, in order to help the local population, and sustainably too.

In 2021-22, our operational focus was on capacity building of trustees collaborators and volunteers. A series of trainings were conducted with the ‘core resource group’ to discuss, develop and finally share the module. The trainings also centered on the implementation process along with tracking and monitoring mechanisms.

The plan was further cascaded to the communities through a blended approach. A resource team was involved not only in the selection of volunteers but also in motivating them to take up the tasks with unemployed women and supporting them in a timely manner.

A ‘Volunteer Support Programme’ was introduced. To work on simple activities around exploration and discovery, a volunteer each was selected from a rural set up and trained to do simple activities encouraging knowledge development. Another key development of this phase was building evidence and creating awareness is also an agenda item to build upon the awareness around renewal and empowerment. Equal emphasis will be required to be put on strengthening learning collectives and knowledge partnerships that can support the scalability and learning ecosystem in remote areas. I would also like to acknowledge the hard work put in by the voulenteers as well as the service providers. They have been an important resource at CARE Foundation bringing energy, enthusiasm and hard work to the organization.

I would like to express my gratitude to the Board whose skilled guidance has helped CARE Foundation to make small strides.
